Quality since 1649. In 1649, Dutchman Peter Thorwöste was granted the right to manufacture cast and wrought iron products in Finland, in the small village of Fiskars. His company soon became known for high-quality steel products. In 1967, Fiskars introduced its best-known product, the scissors with orange handles. Completely new kind of manufacturing process, ergonomic handles and improved blades made the cutting precision, usability and durability of the scissors better than ever.
